Bio on Senor Ek, written by Manny Morales, edited into readable English by myself.

Mr.Efrain Ek, a Mayan shaman was born in Ticul, Yucatan state, Mexico.

He is a 76

year old gentleman.

When he was 26 he received his call to be a shaman which

is a gift that not everybody might get even though his grand

grand mother’s grandmother had this gift, his mother did not get it.

Now he is worried, because none of his children (he has 13 children-nine

ladies and four boys) have received the call and besides

that, none of them want to know about what it is going on

with all his medicine knowledge. He has nobody ready

to pass on the information.

He knows over 1600 different kind of plants and how to prepare

the proper medicine for every specific illness.

About his formal education, he did not get any, so all this

knowledge came as a divine gift.

Mr.Efrain is a very hard worker. He has a ranch and a

farming field. He usually goes to sleep at 8 pm and gets up

at 4 am in order to have breakfast before he is ready to work.

Sometimes he needs to buy some medicinal plants from

places such as Tabasco, Campeche and Quintana Roo, but

he obtains most of the plants in Ticul.

About his age and physical condition he looks stronger and

younger than most men his age. Some explanation about

this, he says: “going to sleep early, working hard and drinking a special

Mayan drink called ‘pozol’”. This is made from smashed corn

that he prepares himself.

After mash has been kept four about 3 or 4 days it becomes fermented.

Added with some water, after 3 or 4 days the fermented pozole

will have some orange dust form on the top of it which is nothing

but penicillin and penicllin, as everybody knows, is great for

any kind of infection. All that keeps him healthy.

Manny introduced me to Senor Ek. He agreed to see me and talk to me about his

work. We met at his farm house on the outskirts of town. He was a gracious host and

before I could ask any questions he told me how to cure Cholesterol. ( Now, how did

he know I had that condition???) Everything he said Manny had to translate from Mayan

into English. He had such a twinkle in his eyes I wanted to take him home with me. He asked me if I wanted to talk to the spirits. Of course, I said. He prayed over me and through the spirit, he told me about my bad shoulder and what to

do for it and what to take for the condition. I felt a very deep connection with him and I received my own message from the Universe, which was to help him translate all this medicine knowledge into English and put it on my web page. I hope I have time to accomplish this, as it is difficult to reach him or Manny to start this project. He also gave me a bag of herbal pods to crush and mix with oregano leaves to make a tea to cure the Cholesterol. More of an update on that later. Gay
